Ball Joints 1969 vs. 1972

Ordered new ball joints for my rig.

I'm using a 1969 frame and control arms and swapping spindles, disc brakes, and all the steering components from a 1972.

Ball joints were shot on both frames, so I ordered new ones for a 1972 as I'm using 1972 spindles. Moog has 2 different part numbers for ball joints from 1969 and 1972. I'm assuming it's because of the taper of the ball joint shaft since the spindles are different.

So my question is... will the 1972 lower ball joints press into the 1969 lower control arms? I do have the 1972 control arms as well... but the 1969's are all cleaned up and coated, where the 1972's are just a greasy mess.

I'm also assuming that the 1972 upper ball joints will just bolt in like any replacement into the 1969 upper control arms.

Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving!

Gary
