Strange question. Does your DMV recognize the frame vin, or the cab vin and how is your truck registered?

Take the year it's registered, and if nothing is shady about it, use that and feel confident about it. If it's purposely body swapped and presented to the DMV as something else, morals and ethics are out the window at that point.

Really I don't see an issue entering it in either class. I'd say the way they set those years are pretty screwy, as all trucks were doing a body-style change in the early 70's.
