The stock 700 shaft has the same splines but sticks out of the case further than the t350 shaft. This spacer makes up for the difference so you dont need to replace the output shaft with the shorter advance adapter piece. Good points - it is cheaper and provides more room for the front driveshaft to clear the pan. Bad point - is that it makes an already longer trans even longer
