If you want to drive that C30 much you will likely want to change the rear differential. My guess would be it will have 4.57 gears or lower. Not really highway friendly. An overdrive trans would help but upgrading to a 14 bolt or a Dana 70 with 3.73 or even 4.10 gears will be even better.

Adding a bed to the rear will definitely make a difference in ride quality. If you don't plan to haul much weight, you can take out a few leafs if needed. But I doubt it will ride as nice as a C10 with trailing arms and coils.

The front can be upgraded to disc brakes just the same as with a C10 or C20. However you will have to change the entire suspension including the crossmember as the C30's have the same LCA shafts as the C20's do.
