If your wire is too short now's a good time to make a Y-cable with packard connectors (the style of everything original to the truck) so you can plug multiple things into the IGN UNFUSED anyway. Just make one end long enough to comfortably reach the orange.
If you're not picky about era-correct connectors, you can do it with crimp connectors too of course.
