My wife and I went from east of OK city last year to the CA line (Needles). She downloaded an app that had us on Rt 66 as much as possible. We also stopped at the Hackberry general store- love that place. A bunch of old cars were there while cruising the mother road.

My favorite places on Rt 66- El Rancho Hotel in Gallup, Blue Swallow Hotel in Tucumcari, any drive inn on Rt 66, Rt 66 diner in Albequerque, and the Rock Cafe in Stroud, OK. There are a lot of good eats and such on 66- such a great time.

Last year we just drove as we wanted with no need to get anywhere anytime soon. One day, we did not burn a tank of gas. Hopefully, we will get the chance to do it again but in one of my trucks. That is my dream...
