LOL You have asked a question with many answers, and opinions. I got my first square in 1983, (a 74 model) and have been driving them ever since. Over the years I have owned/driven a 74, 76,78, 2- 79's, 80, 81, 3-82's, 2 -85's, 84 Sub, and bought an 87 Silverado SWB brand new. Of all the trucks I would have to say I liked the 85's best. GM seemed to work out all of the bugs by 85. Both 85 trucks treated me really well. I liked the fact I could still work on them. The 87 with fuel injection was nice, but you still have to plug in the old computer to sort out "check engine" issues.... The 81-87 seemed to be more fuel efficient than the 73-80. All have pros-cons. If "brand new" 85's were still available, I would but one tomorrow.....
