The 67s came with either a chrome knob or the red one. 68-72 model years only had the red one which is what I have in my 69 now after finding out the original design switch is reproduced. If I'm correct hey changed it in 73 to 94 to what you get now at most if not all autoparts stores. Here's a photo of our 94 silverado and it has the black one. I personally don't like the black one. I know you can get an original design switch at classicparts.com
