The 6066 GMC site has some albums of guys who fabricated headers. I don't think they make a very big difference as these motors have low compression and have fairly low flowing heads. Splitting the exhaust and adding more fuel is about the best thing you can do. An HEI helps as well, but my stock points work fine for mine. No cams are available either, you'd have to have yours custom ground.
