You need to get it down, or find something else and maybe spend a little more initially. Usually spending more initially will save more in the long run of course. In the $4g range you should be able to find something rust free in other areas. This truck is local to me and roughly $4g USD after the conversion and has been for sale for a long time. Not a huge market here for LWB trucks compared to SWB.

Obviously this is a long ways from you, but just shows if you can save a bit more and look elsewhere you could find a better deal. Fly in, drive home, make a trip out of it. You just have to remember to look at how much the truck will cost to make it compared to one you can buy for that total cost.
Just saw that the truck has a WA plate. Is it actually in WA? It'd probably be online for $2500 for awhile as it's nothing special out this way. He'd probably go lower, but for what it's worth you can still find better especially if you're looking for a LWB and not a SWB.
