All the fourth number of a vin tells you is if it was a truck with a box or without..a 4 being with a box... but not what kind of box... only the model number identifies what kind of box... and a 34 would mean a fleetside box.. but again... thats all.. it dosen't tell you if it's a short box or a long box. More model numbers off the glove box are needed to determine the original wheel base... then you know if its short box or long.
Its pretty much a mute point as it seems things have been changed... not that uncommon.... but if you every want to put in a glove box sticker and want the correct details to match the truck... myself or others could give you the correct variety of model numbers.... and most of the vin also. Rod
