I got the linkage all hooked up and working great. All fluids are full and everything is back together. I went to back out of the garage and when I put it in reverse, nothing. Cycled all the gears, nothing. The dipstick on my th400 says check while transmission is in park, and fluid shows on the crosshatch part of the dipstick when I check it with truck running, and in Park. Vacuum line going from intake manifold behind carb to the new modulator on the trans is hooked up and brand new.

When I took the pan off, I replaced the filter, put the new Derale deep pan (3.4 extra quarts) and replaced the modulator and linkage. All seemed fine to me.

What the heck is goin on with this thing?

Did you bolt the converter back up? Did you make sure to spin the converter while installing to make sure it was seated correctly?
