I buy American made cars and trucks. We made the mistake of buying a new Honda Accord in 2005. What a lousy...noisy POS. You know what bothered me the most about it was the fact I was embarrassed to be seen in it knowing our ancestors fought for our freedom. It was the one and only foreign made car I'll ever own.
The Chevy and GM cars and trucks we own are very high quality. We have several pickups in the 200k to 400k mileage range still running their original motors and running gear without any repairs.
On our classic car and truck rebuilds I try to use NOS parts because of the quality. In the restoration world I've always said my customers and/or I would gladly pay more for an American made higher quality part. Remember it might just be your own job you're saving when you buy American.
