Like Keith said, the larger port and/or reservoir go to the front brakes.

I used a '68 drum-drum cylinder on my '66. One port was 1/2", one was 9/16". I plumbed the larger port to the front brakes, and it works like a champ.

No need to fool around with cylinders from other applications, or make this any more difficult than necessary.
