I think you are correct. As I recall, I replaced the original wiper motor mostly because the pump was not working. I have replaced the plastic parts on the end of the pump before but that never got the pump working. I think I will just try to rig up a universal pump and see if that will fire up off the stock push button on the wiper knob.
