I personally wouldn't use a fuel pressure regulator. My holley pump for my pro jection puts out over 45 psi. You'd have to lower it to around at least 10 psi for the carb. That would put way to much strain on the fuel pump -- it's suppose to be able to continuosly free flow fuel, hence the return line with the fuel injection. I wouldn't do it. Just my .02
