You'll get more bad info in a thread like this than good... Don't listen to many who haven't done this in your state.
Your state's DMV web site should tell you how its done in your state. Also, do a web search on AR bonded title for example, and start reading.

It took me about 5 hours to get a bonded title in TX, total, with searching, downloading forms and getting the process down, then running from here to there to get estimates, a bond, DMV title search and finally at the title place it all came together on the first try. Cost was maybe <$150. I started with a bill of sale on a scrap of paper.

You may also be able to do a mechanic's lien. Something else to search.
