Re: 70 c10 no title options
I am a used car dealer in the state of Arkansas.I have been a car dealer for 25 plus years in the state. Bonded title is probably gonna be your best option although it is a major rump pain. The first thing you will have to do is apply for the bonded title. This gives the DMV[in AR it is called DFA] the paperwork you have for the truck. Then they will take the vin # and search to make sure it is not stolen OR it has a lien against it. The latter is more of a big deal than the first cause a lot of times a lien may have been satisfied but not have the lien release recorded and if it does and has not got the release that kills the application right then and there.
If it is all clean they send you back a statement of ability to get a bonded title then you go get the insurance on it[the bond part of the bonded title]with the amount of bond they set [they set the value of the truck and you have to get a policy on that amount]. I have a 68 in the same shape right now but it never has been tagged in AR so that makes it more difficult.I have been through the bonded thing a couple times and it is a good deal of foot work I did all of the paper work in LR at the capitol to cut down on the dfa people that dont quite know their jobs. There is a lot of turnover in those positions and the odd ball stuff like that isn't in their main training I think. Each person not working with those types of things every day may not know the rules as they change up often. At the Ledbetter building there is an office for bonded titles. Good luck if I can help holler. Jim
