Howell efi has some great harnesses with all the plugs that you need, and they also sell pre programmed ecu's tailored towards your needs as well. We just wrapped up a Vortec 454/4L80E swap in our '82 6.2L diesel truck. We used the Howell harness and ECU and they worked very nicely. Also, gauges work just like they would in a regular set up, the Howell harness includes a tachometer output if you want to run a tach.
