Re: Trying to achieve a comfortable ride

I changed my Hei dist. cap, rotor, control module & vacuum advance module. My previous vacuum advance module was bad and decided to change everything else for a quick tune up. Since the change it runs a little rougher and backfires when revving up the engine all wires are correct in the firing order. Could this be happening due to not having vacuum advance before & now having it? The instructions called for it to be turned counter clockwise until it bottoms out which I did for the install, I have since tried to go clockwise to alleviate the problem. I have made several revolutions but the Allen screw does not seem to have any resistance like it originally had, could the screw have backed out and now it needs to be changed once again? Any info or similar problems experienced by someone to help with my problem would be greatly appreciated.
Also what is the best way to set timing and advanced timing for the best performance?
