If you have flat door panels (71 or earlier) you can put 5 1/4" in them below the door handle. In the back 6 1/2" in the bigger side panel section of the rear panels and a single 12" sub in a sealed 1 cu ft box.

This is my setup in the Jimmy run off a 5 channel amp. 50x4 and 190x1 into 4 ohm but 2 ohm stable if you really want to push it. I covered a 1/4" plywood board (that matches the 1/4" door and side panels I built for my truck) and mounted it to the floor under rear seat. Over the years as i have changed the electronics out, I just attached the new ones to the board with wood screws. This meant just 4 holes in the tub.

This setup works awesome top on or off for me. I cut my dash in '89 for a pullout Alpine CD player (who had a CD in '89!?) Never regretted it and now have a DIN style receiver that works great.
