I read once how a street rodder cleaned the underside of his car after a trip to the Bonneville salt flats. He set it up on jack stands and took one of those perforated garden hoses and wound it around underneath the car, turned the water on and let rinse for a day or so. Claimed it did a very good job of getting into the nooks and crannies.
