I did this job on my 70 a couple of months ago. What a pain! I had to take the front of the engine apart (water pump, harmonic balancer, timing chain cover etc) and then put a 2x4 between the frame and the motor mounts to raise the engine enough to get the pan out. I used the Felpro 1 piece gasket and rtv at the edges per the felpro instructions. I will say it fixed my oil leak. Nice and dry underneath now.

It might have been quicker and easier to just pull the engine, I just don't have the room to do it.
