Tip 1. Don't.

Go borrow a timing light, I can almost guantee you that you'll never get it if you try to do it by light. Granted, you can make it run, but you'll never get the best power and gas milage out of it timing by ear.

For those who disagree, take a light and set it to 8*, then to 10* see if you can distinguish the difference between the two timings, I would be surprised if you could
