the 400's get my vote, the old man's got an 84 3/4 to 4x4 with a 350 and TH400, that tranny's been hot enough twice to melt the spedo cable off and those were the only 2 times he changed the fluid, it's outlived 3 engines and has over 300,000 mi on it, and 200,000 of those were pulling a 7x24 gooseneck stock trailer hauling cows, horses, and whatever else you could put in a trailer. Like longhornmail said, "bulletproof"
