I've owned 4 of these year trucks over the past 10 years. ALL of them did it at some point. I've always done the "remove the 15 bolt and stroke it" fix on all of them about once a year. Matter of fact, just did this exact thing to my Silverado SS daily driver on Sunday night.
It is a KNOWN issue with GM trucks, but GM has pretty much instructed dealerships to "play dumb" when it comes to it. It is not a safety issue, so they don't want to spend the money to issue a recall.
