There's a heavy knurl on the shoulder that swedges the hole in the rotor and hub at the same time.......... I have reused old studs but usually where maybe just one breaks and I don't pull the disc off the hub. Just knock in a used one and go.
When I replace the disc...I put new studs in and press each one a little at a time.........that centers the disc and hub.....
