The Chevrolet commercial guard is the one I saw that people were saying was a dealer item, in the thread I saw there were also pictures of guards that were the same except the openings on the ends were wider for GMC dual headlights. On the one I have, the curve on the top looks like it was made for the GMC dual headlights. That is one thing that made me think it was a dealer item, I don't know if there would have been enough demand for aftermarket GMC guards in the 60's
Edit: just found this pic
In your pic from the 63 dealer accessory catalog the guard has 5 equal spaced openings, the center 3 with cross bars. This pic is from murdoc in this thread
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=613858 has wider openings for the headlights and the 3 center sections are narrower. My thoughts were since there was a different version for GMC, that this one I have might also have been offered at a dealership. Also because where the paint is faded away from sun and age, the grill, bumper, grill guard and even the fender have the same shade of red primer showing through and it all looks aged the same. Wishful thinking I guess

Kinda like a 4x4 push bar but not quite as beefy. When I was your age I didn't like it that much but now I am wondering how it would look on my 64 Chevy.
I got that GMC with the grill guard from my mom when I was 17, that was in 1979. She had it for about 5 years if I remember right and never did anything to it but drive it 3 or 4 times a year to go camping out in the desert.
