As stated, the originals were spot welded on....the angle goes on top of the wood. When I bought my truck I discovered the original angles had been cut off and replace with inverted angles so they could just lay a piece of plywood in the bed. I cut them out and replaced them with bolt-in angles from Mark-K in the correct orientation.
