I used a pro6ten on a friend's '72 El Camino with very good results. Hoses all fit just fine, brackets lined up, no problems. And it's A LOT lighter!

BTW, the front seal on an A6 is ceramic, and is actually supposed to 'weep' a bit of oil to lubricate itself. It should not leak enough to need recharging often.
