Re: New '67 C-10 from NC - TopGear_67
This truck is super, super clean. all of the little things (knobs, buttons etc) are mint and flawless....just covered in dust.
So evidently my grandpa had the motor rebuilt before he parked it for good. My dad said he thinks there is about 30k mi after the rebuild.
So what should I do first? here is what I think:
- Drain/flush gas tank, check all hoses and be prepared to replace
- take off the fan on the crank pulley, pull spark plugs
- change oil, get some kind of cylinder wall lube, spray in SP holes
- try to turn the crank and see if the rotating assembly turns.
- new battery, maybe change tranny fluid? Diff fluid?
- figure out what needs to be done with the carb?....sigh I HATE carbs
Don't really hate carbs, but all of my knowledge goes with my fuel injected cars
