It'll fit, everything will bolt up, the 700R4 may last a little while, but it will suck.
You'll spend more on mild performance parts to make it as fast as a stock small block, than you would spend to get a correct (non tall deck) big block.
Yes, you can build a 'mountian motor' out of this engine, but it would be cheaper to get the 502/502 from your dealer.
