I'm out on this Pete. Looked at the evaporator case and the engine side portion has a hole poked thru it. Most likely when an engine was pulled since it is where the vac cannister mounts. The metal plate backer seems decent with surface rust but the case would need to be repaired. I'm pretty sure it would be hard to repair and not show the repair afterwards.
