Simply flip the rectangular bracket the opposite way and bend the linkage rod to fit.
Only problem with bending the rod is it might not be long enough after you put a couple bends in it. Might be just as easy to get used to it.
You might get lucky and find a longer rod or possibly weld an extension on it.
Is 2nd and 3rd normal or reversed too?
