Also, can't compare 2.5" lift with 4". Obviously, any 2.5" lift is going to ride pretty well against any 4". The original springs are flat to negative arch, so it doesn't take much arch to give 2.5" of lift. As you go up, the more the spring design matters. I've had spring shops lift the front by arching and adding a new leaf and that didn't hurt the ride at all. It made it less wimpy...handled more flat with less pitch/dive/roll, but no harsh ride over bumps. This was on our family car, a '90 Blazer.
