So yay!! Guess what I found...
More work!
This is why you are suppose to use non-hardening sealer. Apparently some one used modern urethane window adhesive. It didn't stick to the rubber and had voids in it that held water and caused some rust issues. Not only that but it is a major PITA to remove it. I'm having to use a razor to scrape it off.
I got about half way done stripping the sealer off and it got dark on me so I threw a tarp on it until tomorrow. Plan is to strip what I can off and try a grinder with a wire wheel to finish it off then I'm going paint it with POR-15. I plan on using some synthetic (non petroleum based) grease as a sealer.
