You can just remove old glass and install the slider one using the same rubber gasket (and locking gasket).
When I first got mine, I didn't know this...paid for shipping via freight a whole fiberglass top with sliders. Top got damaged during shipping (who knew)
Later figured out I could just pull the fixed glass out and install the sliders. Heck, I even had to do this once when I locked the keys in my car! Got some windex from store, pulled locking gasket out and then the glass. Got in and unlocked car....all done in about 4 minutes total. A little scary on that fact for breaking in.
