I put a bone stock '03 4.8 in my 1957 long bed. It weighs 3,900 with me in it. Periodically I get motor envy, wish I had gone 5.3 or 6.0, then I just hop in and drive it - the 4.8 is enough. From a stop or a slow roll, it'll spin the tires make smoke and sing me a nice little song. On the highway it gets up to as fast as the suspension wants to go pretty quick.
It also starts right up in any weather, any time and I haven't had to touch the EFI since I got it running. If a hack like me can do it, just about anyone can. Great swap.
