In my opinion a 1/2 ton short box would be totally appropriate.

Most of my family (including me and my dad) would drive a short box for the more sporty appearance and light hauling, but also for pulling trailers (cotton, racecars and other).

My parents are from SE Missouri/NE Arkansas but I have family in Paducah.

We may be related!
