My question is this
What is the best way to drill the holes to route the wiring for the door jamb switches?
From what I can tell I have to go through the door jamb, the inner cab panel and then the kick panel, up under the dash.
Is there a way to get around the panel that's in between?
I might take a trip out to my favorite salvage yard to look at one of the bare cabs.
If I understand your question, you're looking for the original route for the door jam switch? If so, there's a square shaped accretion in the door jam, maybe 3" below the top hinge. These are approximate measures, eye-only. If you need more info. I can do that.

There's a hole in the center of that square. It's threaded for the original door jamb switch (likely stripped if original Ha!).

There's a hole in the kick panel, which is 1" below and 1/2" to the rear of the dash panel's rear bottom corner.

I developed an assembly guide (kit) for restoring this truck from the ground up, complete with details including full hardware descriptions. Much of the info. applies to all 67-72 GM. My build thread, with some info. about the assembly kit https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=730025
