I used to build houseboats in VA. We made the bridge out of glass. You will want to look at getting some sort of gel coat covering that is flexible, otherwise the glass will probably crack. It's pretty easy to lay on, if you don't mind losing a few brain cells. It's really, really toxic stuff!
