Re: If You Could Buy a New One

I didn't address trim levels and options, so this is a do-over.

Beyond a standard custom trim level, IMO it's hit and miss Custom Deluxe to Super. As much I like the 67, I can't speak much for the trim. My edgeucation is more 71-72..................................

I'd run at least the lower belt in all cases fleet side, and the trim is black as opposed wood grain with dark olive being the exception. I prefer the Custom Deluxe dash panel as well. Just give me some interior shine (e.g.., deluxe knobs, courtesy light....I believe code Z62 on my 71) and stainless and I'm good................ I prefer the 71 over 72 for a few reasons, primarily for the interior door. Really, give me a 67 or 71...... A 70 is somewhat a wild card, because of the secondary color option below the lower belt, white on dark blue.

The Super has many features I can do without. But some are VERY cool. The custom cloth trim bench seat (perhaps superior internals as well?) is more better than a standard bench seat IMO. And the headliner is so awesome. Course I'd prefer buckets less dogs and beautiful women. Other features I'd be ecstatic to buy new in a SWB:

IMO the 67 front end looks best. Especially in blue. I like the 67 trim best, which trims off the wells. But square body is a very cool look.

327 or 396/402

400 TH

A/C

Sport mirrors

Tow hooks

Cargo light

Disc brakes

Sway bar

Chrome bumpers and front bumper guards.

Coolant expansion tank.

Custom emblem on the doors. Not sure the years etc., but they look super.

Probably blue and black on white hub caps (71-2?).

Wood bed.

Wouldn't rule out a SWB step side. Hugger orange and perhaps a white top.

Wouldn't rule out a LWB fleet side. 3/4 ton, Hugger orange or medium blue, bottom belts and a white top. Step bumper, camper mirrors and a steel bed.

I developed an assembly guide (kit) for restoring this truck from the ground up, complete with details including full hardware descriptions. Much of the info. applies to all 67-72 GM. My build thread, with some info. about the assembly kit https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=730025
