Makes a lot of sense to have it there out of the way but with easy access when you need it. That would still leave you room for a couple of speakers and a small storage area that is out of sight. In one of these trucks you really need that hidden place for things that get taken along like your camera bag and your lady's purse and the other small things so the don't clutter the cab and the wrong eyes don't see certain items.
