I sell a ton of these gauges on ebay, and I have not yet found an easy way to test them. I've never had a tach before, but in my experience if the little gauges look clean they usually work.
I'm only interested in keeping the air gauge and I prefer voltmeters, so I would be swapping that into a 76-79 cluster to install in my 82. I would end up parting out the rest of it anyway.
I'd like to see what 1774btcrew has first, but I'm interested and will follow up with you once he has a chance to reply.
