I'm in the same boat with my project "orangepeel" a 52 A.D. truck that I have been working on for A LONG time.
I build car's/trucks for a living and can never find time or space for my own stuff. The plan was to just leave the body as is and get it running and life got in the way 
Best of luck to you on your's! Just think...you will be able to take the baby for a ride soon!!
