Yeah, that eBay bracket is a bit on the pricey side. And as I mentioned earlier, the diagram I posted is for 67+ and that particular bracket is different for the earlier years anyway.

This is the style that was commonly used on early/mid 60's Chevy car applications with small block V8's --> http://www.show-cars.com/cgi-bin/com...ction&key=5328 It attaches under one of the valve cover bolts.

The bracket originally used on these trucks is quite similar except it's bent a little different at the bottom so it attaches to an intake manifold bolt instead of a valve cover bolt.


Also, here is the upper / rear bracket used on the passenger side (this one is the same for car & truck applications) --> http://www.show-cars.com/cgi-bin/com...ction&key=5326 It attaches via the rear intake manifold bolt on that side. Some applications with automatic transmissions did not use this bracket ... instead they had one spot welded to the trans dipstick tube.
