Your turn signals may not work because your rear harness is not connected to the tailights yet. It will not blink, even up front, but your signal indicator on the dash should light up solid green. This was GM's way of letting you know a bulb is burnt out. That's my recollection anyway.
As for the backup lights, Jim is correct. Do you have your old engine harness still? (the one the starter is wired up with). If so, this harness will have the proper pigtail for the backup switch on the tranny. f you splice this to your auto harnesse's backup wiring, it should work for ya. Yoy will have to get creative to route your wiring though.
