Don't know about the year of the truck you are referring to, but on the truck I've got it had the plastic push in pins that are used in the door holes. Aside from this, 3M sells a weatherstrip adhesive that I have used that is real good. take a good cleaner to the area, put your weatherstrip material on it, tape over to help hold and the next day it will NOT come off.
