Sweet truck. I really like white half ton short sides. I think the dipstick's location has more to do with the doner vehicle. My Suburban has a 85 305 from a El Camino and the dipstick is on the driver's side. And it too was a 350 in the PO's sales pitch. My 51 GMC has great brakes, stock non power drums, so maybe you just need to tune them up.
