What to do after an EMP: Insert key into ignition cylinder and turn to crank position. Turn back to run after engine starts.

I've read a few different articles on this and it sounds like almost all cars won't be affected. And if they are running during the EMP, the engine might shut off, but it usually restarts. I'm on the west coast too, and I'm not stressed about it.

The best type of transportation in any type of disaster is actually a mountain bike. You don't need roads, you can carry it if needed, and you don't have to find fuel (as long as you're able to pedal at least).
